Opinions? TBH I like the idea they're trying to do it for the mod developers but have gone the wrong way about it...

Isn't the commission like 25% of what you sell?

Yes.

Also DMR mods have started to be pay only so if you want to use lets say Y you will need to pay for X mod. And it also doesn't stop people from stealing your work of other websites then selling on steam.

They should allow donations through steam but all mods as a lot of mods already had donations available, there wasn't anything wrong in the first place.

"If it's not broke don't change it" comes to mind.

The top skyrim mod atm.

If the commission was fair to developers it would be really good, things such as steam green-light are great for indie developers. However this is just unfair.

Not even Valve that set the share. Bethesda has asked for 40% share of all mods sold. It allows a 24-Hour refund period. That's not to mention a large portion of the mods on Skyrim are shit anyway.

40% Goes to Bethesda. 35% to Valve.

I just like how people are bitching about having to pay for mods....most of the mods are still free though....

The new Unreal Tournament will have paid mods, but these paid mods are more of a total conversion or even a new game that uses as a base UT. Also, they will be most probably checked before getting officially released. Still, the percentage going for Epic Games will be by far less than percentages seen here.

It's kind of bullsh** that paid mods were added, especially troll mods that only have a small thing to none changed at all, copyrights are not added (although for a paid item, it should be copyrighted), meaning copy-pasta, and just some spaghetti, for which you'll have to pay some money.

I think it's fair for the modders to get some cash out of their work, but at least 50% should go to them. Fuck steam and bethesda for claiming such a huge percentage of it.
